Our BabyCalm(TM) Developmental Baby Massage and More Classes are a unique 4 week - 8hr - course incorporating baby developmental baby massage and movement, baby calming and communication skills (including concepts included in Dunstan Baby Language and The Happiest Baby techniques), holistic parenting tips and interactive class discussion of many topics that new mums and dads commonly face (such as birth debriefing, feeding worries, bonding, colic, constipation and wind, lack of sleep and concerns about the health and wellbeing of their new baby), classes can be held to suit your needs at a venue of your choice across Cambs, Essex, Herts & Suffolk and regular classes are held in Saffron Walden, North Essex.

BabyCalm(TM) Developmental Baby Massage and More Classes are suitable for all babies from birth to crawling (around 6mths). We will help you to bond with your new baby, help him or her to remain flexible, grow strong and develop well and help you to experience a stress free, tear free relationship of trust, confidence and calm.

Our Developmental Baby Massage techniques are not those taught in usual "run of the mill" baby massage classes, each movement and massage technique has a purpose - to improve the breathing, flexibility, strength and development of your child whilst also learning how to avoid tummy troubles, crying, colic and unsettled behaviour. Our techniques - based on the work of the world's foremost leading Baby Massage expert - Peter Walker - will benefit your baby tremendously and are especially suited to babies with special needs including babies with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and developmental delay as well as minor disorders such as glue ear, blocked tear ducts, sinus troubles and persisten constipation.

BabyCalm(TM) believes that NO OTHER BABY MASSAGE COURSE in the country offers this unique mix of hands on training, education and support from a very experienced mother of four (yes four!) young children, Doula, Homeopath, First Aider, Psychologist & Baby Massage teacher.

How much does a BabyCalm(TM) Developmental Baby Massage, Movement and More course cost?

The whole 8 hour BabyCalm(TM) Developmental Baby Massage and More course is only £50 - just £12.50 per week for four weeks.

For this you receive a folder of handouts, 100mls of  good quality organic baby massage oil and a unique BabyCalm(TM) produced calming CD for you and your baby to enjoy during a baby massage and relaxation session. cakes, biscuits and drinks and mats to use during classes are included in that price too. The only thing you need to supply is a large bath towel for your baby to lay on and a clean nappy to change your baby into after the class.

Where are BabyCalm(TM) Developmental Baby Massage, Movement and More Courses Held?

BabyCalm Developmental Baby Massage, Movement and More courses are held monthly on Wednesday mornings in Saffron Walden, Essex. We are very happy to travel to you - on a Tuesday or Thursday morning -  if you can get together with a group of 3 more mums (4 mums in total including yourself!) and can supply a venue (someone's living room is just fine, we don't need much space!). If one of the mums hosts the classes in her own home her BabyCalm course will be completely FREE OF CHARGE. We regularly teach NCT groups, a wonderful way of all learning how to calm your baby together after the birth. Remember if you host and arrange a class with the rest of your NCT class that your course place will most likely be FREE!

BabyCalm(TM) are willing to travel to teach Baby Massage and calming in Bishops Stortford, Baldock, Braintree, Buntingford, Cambridge, Dunmow, Duxford, Harlow, Haverhill, Letchworth, Linton, Newmarket, Royston, Stansted, Saffron Walden, Sawston, Sawbridgeworth, Thaxted and surrounding villages.

Do you run intensive one day BabyCalm(TM) courses?

No, unfortunately not - mostly because the babies don't tolerate it! however if you live in Baldock, Bishops Stortford, Braintree, Buntingford, Cambridge, Dunmow, Haverhill, Halstead, Harlow, Letchworth, Linton, Newmarket, Royston, Stansted, Sawston, Sawbridgeworth and surrounding villages in Cambs, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk and you would like to learn some Baby Massage and calming techniques  it is possible to offer you a condensed 3 hour BabyCalm(TM) course in your own home. The cost of this is £75 (plus travelling expenses of 50pence per mile for the return journey from my home in Saffron Walden if you are more than 10 miles away). This is a great condensed course if you are struggling with an unhappy baby, suspect your baby has colic or reflux, have a baby that cries lots and doesn't sleep well. We have taught this short BabyCalm course to many new parents and each one has commented on the immense difference it has made to them. Your £75 also includes free organic masage oil, a calming CD and handouts. These classes can be held on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday mornings.

Can I bring my older child with me?

As much as BabyCalm(TM) adore toddlers and older children, we find that new mums love spending time with just their new baby, a special time when they can bond with their new child in a way they might not be able to at home with an older sibling around to take care of. We also like to create an air of peace, calm and tranquility at our baby massage classes so for this reason we sadly regret that it is not possible to invite older siblings. Recognising that this might mean that mums of two or more might not be able to take a baby massage course, we have arranged for a wonderful local OFSTED registered childminder to provide cover for older siblings for the 2hr duration of the class for a small sum of only £10 per session.

Can I have a private BabyCalm(TM) course in my own home?

Yes of course, the cost for this option is £199 (plus travelling expenses of 50pence per mile for the return journey from my home in Saffron Walden if you are more than 10 miles away).
